Children were excited and pleased to receive Chanukah gifts in this year’s holiday campaign. Parents were able to prepare traditional foods such as Latkes with items from the food pantry stocked special for the celebrations.
Donors made the holiday special and performed miracles by turning the cold winter facing households into a warm environment of sharing. The daily challenge of providing nutrition and other necessities makes in difficult for many families to keep up with basics. This year, once again, our community showed that every person counts and every child deserves something extra to be happy about.
While not extravagant, even a small gift can make a huge difference to a child when others are celebrating. Getting something new is a rare treat, and the delighted smiling faces on the youngsters gave staff, parents, and donors a much greater reward.
